TOKYO GAS CO., LTD. (President: Takashi Uchida) announced today that it has entered into a joint venture with EXERGY POWERSYSTEMS CORPORATION (President: Toshiki Kabumori, hereinafter referred to as "Exergy"), (Hereinafter referred to as "main investment").

Exergy is a startup company originating from the University of Tokyo which is developing the next generation accumulated energy system etc. utilizing a high power storage battery, while accumulating actual results of demonstration operation in all parts of the world where renewable energy is introduced considerably, electric power We are aiming for business development in the supply-demand adjustment market.

Tokyo Gas aims to create new businesses in the electricity supply and demand adjustment market etc. by collaborating with exergy such as demonstration for the supply and demand adjustment project utilizing exergy after the use of next generation storage batteries scheduled to start in the UK.

Tokyo Gas has set up "creation of innovation" in the management plan "GPS2020" of Group 2018 - 20 fiscal year, and has been investing and collaborating on start-up companies, energy related venture capital, etc. Through investment in this exergy, we will continue to consider the project utilizing accumulator etc in the future.
