United Nations Climate Summit: Total Partners with Five Major Oil Companies to Launch the Oil & Gas Climate Initiative

On Tuesday, September 23, representatives from government, business and civil society came together for the first time at a summit in New York City hosted by the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to inject fresh impetus into the fight against climate change. On this occasion, six major national and international oil companies—Total, Saudi Aramco, BG Group, Eni, Pemex and Sinopec—announced the launch of a climate initiative as a collective commitment to address the challenge.
