  • By introducing its Sustainability Plan, the institution will continue to be the country's driving force for facing the challenges of climate change and sustainable development in a responsible manner
  • Sustainability initiatives have always been a priority for PEMEX

On December 15, 2023, as part of its efforts to reinforce its strategy to address environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues, the management of Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) submitted to the Sustainability Committee the first version of the Petróleos Mexicanos Sustainability Plan.

This document contains strategies to reduce emissions, promote energy transition, reduce the environmental impact of operations, and promote operational safety. It also includes actions in terms of governance, operational, financial and communication policies and procedures to support its implementation.

The members of the Sustainability Committee are currently reviewing the plan and expect to develop a version in the coming weeks in collaboration with PEMEX Management and the consulting firm that contributed to the preparation of this document. This new version will incorporate any suggestions that may arise and will be presented to the Board of Directors of Petróleos Mexicanos for approval at a future meeting.

These actions reaffirm PEMEX's commitment to the ESG strategy from the highest levels of the organization.
