Dec 03 - Polimeri Europa divests the elastomers plant in Baytown, Texas

Eni communicates that the Board of Directors of the subsidiary company Polimeri Europa approved the disposal of the elastomers (owned by Polimeri Europa Americas) plant in Baytown Texas for a total amount of US$ 41 million. The plant was sold to Lee Chang Yung Chemical Industry Corp. (LCY), which ranks second worldwide in production of thermoplastic rubber.

The Baytown plant has been operating since 1993 with a production capacity of 50 thousand tons/year of styrenic block co-polymers, used in applications such as modified bitumens for roofing systems, road paving, adhesives and footwear.
