Murphy Oil Corporation announces that production has resumed at the Medusa field. Production at the Medusa SPAR had been shut in following Hurricane Ivan to clean up debris and repair damage caused by the storm. Current production is 30,000 barrels per day of oil and 30 million cubic feet per day of natural gas ramping up to pre-Ivan levels of 34,000 barrels per day of oil and 34 million cubic feet per day of natural gas. The Medusa field is located in 2,200 feet of water in Mississippi Canyon Blocks 538 and 582. Murphy is the operator of the field and holds a 60% interest with partners  Eni Petroleum (25%) and  Callon Petroleum Company) (15%).
